Mathematics – Problem Solving Puzzles

Recently we had an afternoon of maths puzzles and games during our maths class.

Here are some of our games.

One was called Monster Madness.

We had to know our times tables in order to move around the game board

and outwit our partner by getting four in a row.

It wasn’t as easy as we thought!

Another game was to get four in a row using addition and multiplication.

The Magic Hexagon was very challenging.

We had to place the numbers 1-12 around the hexagon,

but each side had to add up to the same number. It was very challenging!

A great afternoon was had by all.

Internet Safety – Celebrating Internet Safety Day 2015

This week saw our whole school take part in the global

Internet Safety Day for 2015.

We watched the videos below

and also discussed what to do when on the Internet,

so that we stay safe.

We learnt that it is important to act responsibly

when we are on the Internet, especially if we are on any social media sites.

Part of our activities at school

included designing a poster about Internet Safety.

The best poster in each class will be chosen and prizes will be given.

So remember, always stay safe on the Internet and follow safe practices!

We also listened to this song and joined in.

See if you can also join in.

What did you learn from our Internet Safety day?

What do you do to stay safe on the Internet?

What advice would you give someone about staying safe on the Internet?

We would love to hear from you.

Mother Teresa – her life and her quotes

  • Mother Teresa has been beatified by the Catholic Church. This is a step on the way to becoming a Saint. She is now called Blessed Teresa of Calcutta.
  • She was awarded the Nobel Peace Prize in 1979.
  • She once traveled through a war zone to rescue 37 children from the front lines.
  • She received numerous awards for all her charity work including the Presidential Medal of Freedom

What do you think about the work

that Mother Teresa accomplished?

How has Mother Teresa inspired you?

Are there any special quotes from Mother Teresa

which you really like and which give you

a guide for how you can lead your life?

Write back and tell me your thoughts.
